My Ethnicity

Today, we were supposed to write a blog post about the ethnic background of our family. In the post, we are supposed to write about the ethnic customs that have been passed down in our family. My family’s ethnic background is mainly African(Nigerian to be specific). When I asked my mom what some of our customs are, she replied with these basic traditions: breaking of kola nut, paying bride price, ancestral praying, and moonlight tales. Week 10 Part B Evaluation and audit

I have written 5 posts since March. All 5 of my posts were school based.I received a total of 8 comments from students. The post that received the most comments are Our Class and all its craziness😘, because it had a video. The post I most enjoyed writing is Week Six: My Passion is Chemistry, because I got to tell what I love doing out of most things. No, I did not change my blog theme because, I didn’t think it was important but now that I think about it my blog does need a new theme. I have 21 widgets and no I do not think that is too many. I have one overseas student on my blog roll, her name is Jessica and she’s from Australia.

For this part of Week Ten I interviewed my good friend Mr. Chris O’Connor. And here are the asked questions and answered answers.

Week Five: Memories

To me memories are something that when you remember you either feel sad and haunted by that memory or you feel great joy and pride. It just some thing you never want to forget. My favorite memory is with my mom and dad. When I was about four after school I remember going to get some ice cream with them everyday when my teacher would give them a good report. It’s my favorite memory because it was back when my parents were still together and my dad wasn’t in Japan and they were happy together.

Week Four: A Picture is Worth

Today we learned about the safety’s of copyright. We learned on the ways to keep our stuff safe and how to get permission to use other peoples stuff and here’s what we learned…

You can use things you find online as long as you:
Check who created it
Get permission to use it
Give credit to the creator
Buy it(If nesscessary)
Use it responsibly
If you aren’t careful in how you use other people’s work online, you might be stealing. We have to use work responsibly and show our respect for other people’s hard work and creativity by giving credit where credit is due.

Sharing Creative Works
and illustrated primer
by: Alex Roberts, Rebecca Rojer, & Jon Phillips
What is I don’t want somone else to share my work? People can’t use or share my work w/ out bc of ©laws. In the U.S that is called Fair Use
When I create something automatically my work is protected. No one can copy share or change my work without my permission.
When I want people to be able to use my work it’s called cc. It provides free licenses you can use to protect your work.
Documents explains freedom and limitations. How people can and can’t use my work. And they work internationally.
All licenses require attributions
$= Useable for profit O+$+/= Not useable for profit
=- means you can uses thing without permission /+= – MEANS YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR PERMISSION.
↪️=If they change you work they have to go by your rules.
The can NEVER use your work even AFTER your dead. You choose what you create and how it will be shared.

Outdoor School

My favorite moment from Outdoor School was at the campfire on the last day Mountain Goat (one of the counslers) was telling us a story and it went like this(read with a surfer dude voice): ” One day when I went to the beach there were some really huge waves but I couldn’t seem to get a wave so (Don’t try this at home (his exact words) I stole some one else’s wave and it worked till when he came behind me his surfboard fin cut me in the back luckily not to deep but just deep enough to draw blood. So, as I was walking a huge wave ran over me and as it was pushing me towards a rock I used my surfboard to protect me and ended up breaking it in half. After that I had enough and went to go grab my sandals from where I hid them but to my discovery I found that someone had stolen them so with no shoes grabed my stuff and walked across the hot concrete to the sidewalk to call a taxi but to my suprise my wallet had washed out of my board shorts so without noticing the man next to me sat down on the bench in frustration. Finally noticing the man next to me I studied his features an as I noticed he was very old and compared to him I was in way better condition yet he was smiling so I asked him, ” Sir, why are you smiling? ” and I had to say it in spanish because I was in Central America and he montined for me to come closer and closer and closer to the point when my ear was to his mouth he did the strangest thing he got up and( this is the part you do it as well) shook his head and said “Cabeza! Cabeza! Cabeza! Cabeza!” then move his shoulders up an down and said,”Hombros! Hombros! Hombros! Hombros!” jumped up and down pointing at his feet and said “Pie! Pie pie pie pie pie!” and finally move his arm in an S motion and said ” Ojos! Ojos! Ojos! Ojos!” and what he meant by that is he was happy to be alive.
